My friends, please forgive the slight delay in sending you this monthly message – for it was in the hope of bringing good news, which I believe is now in order! Organizing meetings for county Republican Central Committees in the Denver Metro Region are complete, and we have some promising results. These meetings are held every two years, to elect county officers, elect officers for electoral House, Senate and Judicial districts, and to elect bonus members for each. We have been watching closely, in conjunction with the buzz surrounding the State Party events. I can report that, although Jefferson County remains largely unified under one tent, Weld, Arapahoe, Douglas and El Paso County places are now filled with a balance of officers and bonus members that come from different tents.…

DCRW Members, I write today from the Vacancy Committee Meeting for State Senate District 30, serving Highlands Ranch, Castle Pines, Lone Tree and parts of unincorporated Douglas County.  What a process this is -- democracy in action to identify our representative in the State Senate, fulfilling the final two years of Commissioner Van Winkle's Senate term. CONGRATULATIONS GO TO SENATOR-ELECT JOHN CARSON, who is due to be sworn in within a few days. The next major meeting for the Republican Party is slated to be February 3, where officers of the county party will be elected.  Keep your eyes out for our newsletter, which will share information about the candidates for those offices and other important information. No matter how you say it, we are here, and the time is now to VOTE!  Encourage your neighbors and young friends to weigh in on the important races and issues – because every vote really does count, in every race and on every issue.  Remind our new voters that voting is their choice – even if they vote for different party candidates depending on the race, and even if they do not vote for one particular race or measure.  It is a secret ballot, and one’s own choice how to vote.  They need not be swayed by friends, social media, or adults who tell them otherwise.  And we know you will also share your DCRW CFRW / NFRW message that voting Republican is the best choice for their future!  They…

Ballots have dropped, and you can expect yours the mailbox any day now.  There are MANY measures on the ballot, in addition to candidates and judges.  DCRW aims to help you make sense of it all, and provide you with some information to make your choices. I’ve attended nearly a dozen sessions to learn about the many measures on our November ballot.  These sessions were presented by different groups and speakers, with varying points of view.  As I synthesized the information for myself, I decided to share it with my DCRW member friends, to save you time and give you straight information, with no bias or opinion. Many of us would rather begin this election season differently than Hunter S. Thompson’s chaotic vision to “skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow! What a Ride!’” (The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967).  Yet, here we are in Douglas County, Colorado, looking for the point man and dealing with drifting swing riders, while our flank riders struggle to keep the back together. BALLOTS DROPPED! My friends, it is an important time in our great State. Your neighbors need you to carry the flag and promote our most important civic duty: TO VOTE! Spring Is In The Air And So Are Elections!!! As you read this message, residents of Lone Tree are filling out ballots for Lone Tree Mayor and City Council, due on May 7.   With Republicans on the ballot, we know we will be in good hands!  Tell your Lone Tree neighbors about your Republican candidates, and offer to deliver a ballot to the drop box (up to 5 ballots at time).  We wish the best of luck to all the Republican candidates! Now that we are armed with Frank McNulty’s primer on GOP Caucus, let us all make a great showing on March 7, 2024!  Remember that caucus is the place where you can be selected as a delegate to County and State Assemblies, to place your vote for the primary ballot for candidates for County Commissioner, State House and Senate, new Judicial District 23 District Attorney, and US Congressional District 4 Representative.  It’s a worthwhile evening, and time well spent for you and your GOP community.
