Thanks to Mother Nature, this month brings the beginning of our DCRW year – and we are more resolved than ever to fight for our conservative values.  There is clearly a mountain of challenges that we face in the New Year of 2023. It is fitting that, at the dawn of a new year, we look to our first President, George Washington.  By God’s goodness to us at the birthing of a new nation, he knew that we would need someone who was honorable, sought Him in all things, and stood for righteousness’s sake. This was so important at that time, and it is so important to us now.  All of these foundations are so important to help steer us forward to our future. Some of our first President’s words:…

Happy New Year! While the year has changed, we haven’t.  We are the same patriotic women willing to work tirelessly to support and elect those who share our Republican values. The Republican Party, and therefore Douglas County Republican Women, are committed to the values and ideals that are the true greatness of America. George Washington said, “Every post is honorable in which a man can serve his country.”  We have all served in an honorable post for our country and for Colorado, whether it was addressing envelopes, door knocking or holding an office.  This work is all-important, and all those hours and calls count!  The volunteer hours you have put in count, because at the 2023 Biennial Convention in Oklahoma City, NFRW will recognize outstanding clubs through the Achievement Awards…

We have spent more than a year trying to educate voting Coloradans on the importance of not only their casting their vote, but voting for the candidates that will help restore our State and this Country to what it was when we all inherited it. Mark Twain said, “If you don’t read the newspaper you are uninformed, if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed”. Our job of educating the voting public has been made more difficult because of the lack of information and the misinformation they receive on a daily basis from all forms of the news media. It is alarming to think about how much more damage will be done to our country if we don’t send more Republicans to Washington to stop the Democrats’ reckless agenda…

I know we are all working hard to get our Republican candidates elected, but I am going to repeat myself: this kind of work is hard, and it sure isn’t glamorous, but it is necessary if we are going to turn more seats red in November. We must continue to organize in our communities, we must stuff those door hangers, distribute them, knock on doors, and educate the voters on how they must vote to return Colorado to what it was when we inherited it. Our state is truly at a crossroads, and we cannot miss this opportunity to make a difference! Join us September 21st for our GANAHL DAY MEETING!  We are going to hear from Danny Moore, our Lieutenant Governor candidate.  As a plus, Heidi’s Mom, Susie, will be bringing us some Heidi STUFF! Our Mission to get Republicans elected was aided at our Lincoln Day Picnic at The Wiens Ranch in August.  We raised funds that will be used to help get Republicans elected, plus we had a great time!  We were honored to have nearly all of our candidates show and share some time with us.  We know they all have very busy schedules and realize that they can’t be everywhere at once. We are about halfway between Spring and Summer, and our May meeting will be our last until September. I hope you all will take the summer break from meetings to get out and work to help the candidate of your choice get elected. We are patriotic women who love America and will fight to take back our country! So, let’s knock on those doors, make phone calls, address envelopes, and do “whatever it takes” to make this country RED again. Caucus is over, and I hope “Congratulations” is in order for many of you on being elected Precinct Committee People and/or Delegates to the County Assembly on March 19th where you will vote on who will be the nominees for the county level elected offices. I also hope those of you that were elected Delegates or Alternates to the County Assembly are planning to run to be Delegates to the State Assembly where you will be eligible to vote on who will be the nominees for the state level elected offices. When we elect these candidates to run for county or state level offices, we must give that vote a lot of consideration. Welcome to February 2022, DCRW Members! I am proud to say that our work each day to support and build up other Republicans directly contributes to building an America where freedom truly flourishes. Still, we all must remain dedicated to educating Americans about the consequences our great nation will face if Republicans aren’t elected in November.
