President’s Message April 2021

President's Messages
On March 27th, the Colorado Republican Party elected their new state officers.  We now have an ALL-FEMALE leadership team: Marilyn Harris - past CFRW President, Priscilla Rahn and Kristi Burton Brown.  All three of these fantastic women are members of the Colorado Federation of Republican Women, one is even a past President of CFRW! They are members of our team and it is our job to get in line to support them in their goal to move our Colorado Republicans forward in the right direction. There was a lot of divisiveness during this election, and we must all get over it, work together and quit being our own worst enemy.  Theodore Roosevelt said, "Do what you can with what you have where you are." We are here now we have…

President's Messages
If ever there was a reason for us to stay informed and to educate those who are not as to what is going on in our country and how much work there is to be done, here it is: Biden and company are set to borrow more money over the next 12 months than the U.S. government borrowed to finance the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Cold War combined. This leads me back to what you are going to hear me repeat over and over, from Albert Einstein, “Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance, you must keep moving.” We cannot sit back and do nothing, we must get on and stay on that Republican bicycle and go forward…

President’s Message February 2021

President's Messages
WELCOME BACK, I am so delighted to host an in person meeting February 17th, with a great speaker, Ben Martin who is a Constitution expert. We are all Zoom fatigued and this meeting will give us a chance to start getting back to, do I dare say, normal. Please make your reservation now, because with COVID limiting headcounts, we must know how many are coming. This is a new year, starting a month late, but starting. Dues are due, we have begun working on our 2021 Membership Directory and if your dues are not paid by February 17th, you will miss being in the Directory. We would not want that to happen. If you have not paid and will not be at the February meeting, please go to dcrw.org and pay online now. Regardless…

President’s Message October 2020

President's Messages
The Board decided to host our October meeting on Zoom, because our discussion of ballot issues this month makes it imperative to get this information to as many DCRW Members as possible.  The number of members we can reach in person is very limited.  Please do register and plan to attend so you can be educated on these issues and be in a position to advise those you know who either don’t know about them or have been ill advised.  We need as many votes on all issues in the right direction as possible. The CFRW Annual Convention will be held virtually on October 10th, you should be getting a registration form shortly.  It will be from 10 am to 1 pm with a fantastic lineup of speakers: Senators Tom Cotton,…

Our luncheon venue, the Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel, is operated by South Suburban Parks and Recreation. All of their recreational facilities are closed through April 30th, and DCRW's April meeting has been canceled. In this time of crisis, our first thought is for your health and safety.  We truly hope that you are safe, healthy and adjusting as best as possible to this new norm. We just wanted to send a note of encouragement in these trying times. It's community and personal support that really makes a difference. Even though we're physically cut off from each other, today we are empowered to connect in ways that weren't possible before. For that we are grateful. If you are in good shape to deal with the hardships the country is going through…

President’s Message March 2020

President's Messages
February has been a month that most of us will not forget because of the visit by our President to Colorado.  If you were lucky enough to go and get in, I don’t have to explain the feeling to you; if you weren’t able to go, I will simply say I have in my lifetime been to many large gatherings, but never have I felt the energy and electricity that I felt in Colorado Springs on the 20th. The feelings, admiration and respect that President Trump and Senator Gardner have for each other was quite evident.  They will truly be an asset to each other in helping us to reelect both men.  I say ‘us’ because it is going to take each and everyone of us to accomplish this goal. …

President's Messages
Since we won’t meet until after Valentine’s Day, I want to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day! Democrats have surpassed Republicans in voter registration in Colorado, and it is crucial that we do everything we can to make sure all Trump supporters are registered to vote in 2020. The Trump Victory Campaign and the Colorado Republican Party are hosting a series of training sessions on voter registration.  I urge you to go to the Colorado GOP’s website and check out the dates, attend a meeting and volunteer.  We CAN turn Colorado Red in 2020, but we need to work together and ensure all Trump supporters are registered to vote. I encourage you to put March 7th on your calendar and attend Caucus.  The Douglas County Republican Party has posted…

President’s Message January 2020

President's Messages
Happy New Year! I hope you’ve enjoyed your time with your family and friends this Christmas and are feeling joyful and optimistic about 2020. This is the year we need to speak up and counter the negative and inaccurate information spewed by the liberal media and the Democrat leaders. Please stay informed and look for opportunities to explain what it means to be a conservative caring for our country and community.  This is not the year to sit on the political sidelines.  To start the New Year right, you’ll hear a status update on the National Popular Vote (NPV) issue at our January meeting. The Republican Caucus will be on March 7th – this is a great way to start getting involved in helping the Republicans in Colorado.  People who…

President’s Message November 2019

President's Messages
Before we jump into the Holiday Day Season, there are a few things we must do to start us off on the right foot in 2020. First, dues are due and must be paid by the end of November for you to be included in the DCRW 2020 Directory.  You may click here and pay online. Second, if you plan to or have purchased an ad to go in the DCRW 2020 Directory, Mona must have your ad copy by the end of November.  You may pay for ads online, also. Third, we must elect our officers for 2020-2021.  Our nominating committee presented a slate of officers at the October meeting; President  Barbara Piper 1st Vice President  Jeanette NewVille 2nd Vice President  Mona Weaver 3rd Vice President  Joyce Paloma Recording…

President's Messages
I just returned from the NFRW Convention in Indianapolis, home state of our Vice President Mike Pence.  In Indiana, Republicans hold every statewide-elected position, both U.S. Senate seats, seven U.S. House seats, super majorities in the Indiana House and Senate and 89% of County Commissioner seats: a goal the rest of the country should strive to achieve. While there, the Vice President learned of the NFRW Convention and dropped by the hotel to say, “Hi.”  Below is a short portion of what he had to say: “If you all will step forward, redouble your energy, get motivated this week and burst out of Indiana like this is the starting gate, and do all that you can in the days ahead, I believe we’re going to re-elect a Republican majority in…
