President’s Message January 2019

President's Messages
Happy New Year, I hope your Christmas was joyful and filled with time with loved ones.  Going into 2019, I hope your goals and resolutions will be fully realized in the coming year. Our dues are due and must be paid in January to be included in the 2019 Directory.  Also, our ads in the directory help defray the printing cost, so I encourage you to place an ad yourself, talk to your friends and neighbors, encourage them to place an ad for their business and also encourage them to become a part of the DCRW family. The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) will be receiving our Bucket Money this month, TAPS offers compassionate care to all those grieving the loss of a loved one who died while serving…

President’s Message November 2018

President's Messages
Our November meeting will be a little earlier in the month so we don’t interfere with anyone’s Thanksgiving plans. Starting with our November meeting, our reservation deadline is 8pm on Wednesday prior to our meeting. This month we will have our regular ‘Thanksgiving Lunch’ that Lone Tree does so well. I want to give a big ‘Thanks’ to Mona Weaver and Juli James for co-chairing our auction at our October meeting and to everyone who helped to make it a success, by donating auction items, helping with the setup, checking out, making cash donations, bidding and purchasing items. Because of everyone’s help, we were able to donate $5,000 each to the Senate Majority Fund and the House ‘Values First Colorado’ Fund.  The next time you see John Anderson or Frank…

President’s Message October 2018

President's Messages
Our October meeting is going to be a busy one, with Lang Sias our candidate for Lieutenant Governor coming to speak as well as our auction to raise campaign funds to help our candidates.  It is our ‘Fundraiser for Freedom’.  If you have an item to donate, please call – we can still pick up your item to auction.  Also, please, please bring a friend to do some early Christmas shopping at the auction, we have a lot of very nice, unique items I’m sure they can’t live without. Money collected when we “Pass the Bucket” this month will go to the Governor’s race.  If you bring a check, please make it payable to ‘Stapleton for Colorado.’ All of our candidates need your help – time, talent and treasure, so…

President’s Message September 2018

President's Messages
Here’s hoping that you have all had a safe fun summer and are now ready to go to work, we have two things that need our attention: 1.Our DCRW Auction will be held at the October monthly meeting, so remember to bring items you are donating to the September meeting.  Also, talk to the people you do business with (hairdressers, dentists, nail salons, boutiques etc.) and ask them for donations, but remember to complete the donor form.  Also, start now, encouraging your friends and neighbors to come to the auction. We really want this to be successful, so we will have a nice contribution to give our House and Senate candidates. 2.November election is coming up fast, so please share your time and treasure with our candidates. I know we…

President’s Message May 2018

President's Messages
It is hard to believe this is the May newsletter and after the May luncheon, we will be taking our three month summer recess until September. We may have a meeting recess, but we have a very important Primary Election on June 26 and an even more important election in November. Your candidates will need your help.  Let’s put our best foot forward during this campaign season, so we don’t have an ugly primary. Wayne Williams is facing a tough race for Secretary of State and George Brauchler for Attorney General – hop on board with one or both of them and let them know you are willing to volunteer. As announced, we will have an auction at our October meeting, and hope to raise enough money to make a…

President’s Message April 2018

President's Messages
We had asked that you save the date of May 19th, for the CFRW District VI meeting; however, we find there are several things that conflict with that date that could possibly keep our attendance down.  We have rescheduled the meeting for June 2nd, with it still being a lunch meeting at the Valley Country Club, further information will be forthcoming. We all survived the Caucus and the County Assembly meeting in March we now have one more hurdle prior to the June primary and that is our April 14th State Assembly at the Coors Event Center in Boulder.  Congratulations to those of you who were elected Delegates and Alternates to the State Assembly.  If you have never participated at either of these levels, I recommend you attend the State…

President’s Message March 2018

President’s Message March 2018

President's Messages
We started the year with our Gubernatorial Forum.  We had approximately 80-85 people there, many of whom would have never heard all the candidates except for that forum.  As women and Republicans, we have so much to offer and it is our responsibility to go into our communities and educate and fight for our principles.  We need to let people know what we stand for, speak with our own message and broadcast our Republican values.  The more there are of us the easier that job will be. Every time we turn on the TV or pick up printed material, we hear and read about infrastructure.  We need to think about our own DCRW infrastructure: do we increase our membership, so there are more of us to work for our candidates…

President’s Message February 2018

President's Messages
2018 is here and while I say, ‘Thank You’ for the confidence you have shown in me by electing me to serve as your President for the next two years, I also have confidence that all of you will be working alongside me and the newly elected officers to accomplish all we have in front of us. At the February meeting, our donations will go to Project Sanctuary. Each month, watch our new abbreviated newsletter for the recipient of these funds. Project Sanctuary is a therapeutic military family program that focuses on the needs, challenges and concerns that our military families face every day, taking military families from BATTLE-READY to FAMILY-READY. The Board vets any charity who receives our donated funds: Project Sanctuary is rated a Four Star Charity by…

President’s Message January 2018

President's Messages
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s! It’s hard to believe how fast 2017 flew by and now we’re coming into the mid-term elections and the political activity will begin to come at us fast and furious. Check out the Calendar for the important dates – Caucus, etc. We certainly didn’t start the New Year off well with the tragic death of one of our finest men in Blue when 29-year old Douglas Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Zackari Parrish was killed in the line of duty by an ambush when he and other deputies answered a domestic 911 call. What a heartbreaking and needless death! I know we all are devastated by this evil act and our thoughts and prayers go out to Zack’s wife…
