I hope that all of you had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s with family and friends! There were a number of our members who had some difficult challenges over the holidays but we’re praying that they are all on the road to recovery!
WELL, we all had a great early Christmas present with the November 8th election, didn’t we?! We can all now take a deep sigh of relief as we look forward to President-Elect Donald Trump and VP-Elect Mike Pence “Making America Great Again!” This is certainly going to be interesting as we look forward to this year Nationally, State-Wide, and on the local level. I certainly hope that we can begin to really unite our Country behind our new President so we can give him and his administration a real chance to move the Country forward. Trump has done a great job in choosing talented and experienced people for his Cabinet, so I believe we have a bright future ahead of us. I also hope the “snowflakes” will get a grip, too! I am really concerned with all the last minute things that President Obama is doing which looks like his efforts to de-legitimatize Trump’s election, stymie Trump’s agenda, and in the long run, put policies in place to blame Trump for the Dems last disastrous eight years, i.e., the terrible vote at the U.N. against Israel, releasing so many Gitmo prisoners, meeting with the Dems to urge them to block the repeal of ObamaCare, and on and on. January 20th can’t get here soon enough!
Thank you to so many of you who worked so hard to turn Colorado RED and to those who stepped up to run as Republican candidates; unfortunately, for some, it was not to be. That means that we still have a lot of work to do for the upcoming mid-term elections. There were a number of Republicans who should have won their elections but were beat out by the Dems. It was embarrassing that Trump didn’t take Colorado after he was able to rally all those other States that usually go Democrat. I hope all of you will keep your enthusiasm going into the mid-terms so we can finally turn our State around! It really never ends, does it? As Republicans, we must UNITE, UNITE, UNITE!
Don’t forget that your 2017 Membership dues are now due! There is a Membership Application in this newsletter. DCRW can only keep $10 of your $25 regular member dues since we have to forward $15 to CFRW for their work and they then forward $5 of that on to NFRW for all their programs. So you see, we do need your support. We also have a large expense coming up in a few months when we have to print our 2017 Membership Directory. Hopefully, many of you will be able to take out an ad to help defray the printing costs.
